With over 25 years of experience in the Nonprofit and Education sectors, Manny brings a passion for working with organizations in finding their strengths and potential.
Manny has worked at all levels of nonprofits for several organizations such as the latino issues forum, the san diego foundation, the jacobs center for nonprofit innovation, the neighborhood house association, and the san diego urban corps. his experience includes work in advocacy, Strategic planning, research, program design, program evaluation, Development, Grant writing, and as a former CEO of the catholic community foundation of san diego.
for 13 years he served as the communications director for the sweetwater union high school district, the largest secondary district in california. his work included Public Relations, crisis communications, strategic communications, social media, event planning, and grant writing.
a native of san diego’s South county, manny has a passion for communities and for working with communities to find Their voice. He has served in numerous Volunteer Capacities including being a past president and board member of the California school public relations association (CalSPRA), the former chair and founding member of the san ysidro community foundation, a member of the city of san diego citizens’ review board of police practices, and a LEAD san diego graduate.
Currently, he is active in several local organizations including: the Eastlake Elementary School PTA, a football and basketball coach at eastlake elementary, a football coach at bonita vista high school, and a board member of the bonita museum and Cultural center.
manny holds a B.A. from the university of san diego and a masters of public policy (M.p.p.) from georgetown university in washington, d.c.
